SOPHIA MEZA

Sophia Meza [she/her/they/them] is a creative born in Minneapolis, MN. She has been training in dance since the age of 3, which inspired a life-long dance journey. Sophia has trained in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, jazz-funk, West African, multiple modern techniques, and various hip-hop styles. She considers herself a forever student of every dance style she approaches. Sophia has performed in and created various works around the Twin Cities, including choreographing the musicals American Idiot and Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party for TASU Theater Company. They had the honor of performing at the Indonesia Institute of The Arts of Yogyakarta (ISI) in 2019 as a part of an undergraduate research project, and hopes to continue to travel and share art in community around the world. They love their beloved friends and chosen family, her plant babies, and longingly gazing at the beautiful sky.

Sophia graduated from the University of Minnesota: Twin Cities with a degree in Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and Global Studies.
